Cast Acrylic rivals glass in transparency (92 percent light transmission) and exhibits outstanding weatherability. The casting process produces profiles with superior optical properties compared to molded or extruded products. Physical properties are also superior with less process induced stress (resistance to cracking/crazing). Cast Acrylic is approximately 1/2 the weight of glass and fabricates similar to wood. Post machining polishing can produce crystal clear components.Applications include displays, models, electrical/electronic parts, special lighting applications and industrial fixturing.

  • Exceptional Heat Resistance
  • Bio Compatible
  • Excellent Abrasion Resistance
  • Excellent Chemical resistance
  • Melt Processable
PEEK is a semicrystalline thermoplastic with extraordinary mechanical properties. The Young's modulus is 3.6 GPa and its tensile strength 90 MPa. PEEK exhibits two glass transition temperatures at around 140 C (284 F) and around 275 C (527 F), depending on cure cycle and precise formulation. PEEK melts at around 350 C (662 F) and is highly resistant to thermal degradation. The material is also resistant to both organic and aqueous environments, and is used in bearings, piston parts, pumps, compressor plate valves, and cable insulation applications. It is one of the few plastics compatible with ultra-high vacuum applications. PEEK is considered an advanced biomaterial used in medical implants. It is used in the areospace industry primarily for its wide temperature range.

  • PEI will withstand continuous temperature of 390 F under load.
  • Is rated UL 94 VO and is generally accepted by the FAA for aircraft interiors
  • PEI has found use in the Medical Device Market because of its heat and radiation resistance
  • It is prone to stress cracking in chlorinated solvents.
  • It is soluble in partially halogenated solvents but resistant to alcohols, acids and hydrocarbon solvents.
Polyetherimide (PEI) is an amorphous, amber-to-transparent thermoplastic with similar characteristics to PEEK's. Relative to PEEK, it is cheaper, but less temperature-resistant, and lower in impact strength. It is prone to stress cracking in chlorinated solvents. It is available under the tradename Ultem, a registered trademark of General Electric, the principal developer and manufacturer. PEI will withstand continuous temperature of 390 F under load and is rated UL 94 VO and is generally accepted by the FAA for aircraft interiors. It is soluble in partially halogenated solvents but resistant to alcohols, acids and hydrocarbon solvents. PEI has found use in the Medical Device Market because of its heat and radiation resistance, hydrolytic stability, and transparency. In the electronics field it is used in lamp sockets, and printed circuit board substrates.
