Produced by a specially developed resin for repeated sterilization in the autoclave, Material offers the autoclaving performance of PPSU but is easier to machine with less tool wear. Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), also known as high-modulus polyethylene (HMPE) or high-performance polyethylene (HPPE), is a thermoplastic. It has extremely long chains, with molecular weight numbering in the millions, usually between 2 and 6 million. The longer chain serves to transfer load more effectively to the polymer backbone by strengthening intermolecular interactions. This results in a very tough material, with the highest impact strength of any thermoplastic presently made. It is highly resistant to corrosive chemicals, with exception of oxidizing acids. It has extremely low moisture absorption, has a very low coefficient of friction, is self-lubricating, and is highly resistant to abrasion (15 times more resistant to abrasion than carbon steel). Its coefficient of friction is significantly lower than that of nylon and acetal, and is comparable to that of PTFE, sometimes none as the poor mansTeflon, but UHMWPE has better abrasion resistance than Teflon. It is odorless, tasteless, and nontoxic

PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) is a flouroplastic in the fluorohydrocarbon family. The fully fluorinated PTFE is more chemically inert and thermally stable than the partially fluorinated PVDF; however PVDF has superior mechanical properties. Tensile strength is 7000 psi and the continuous operating temperature is 280F. Kynar 740 offers excellent chemical and corrosion resistance at both ambient and elevated temperatures. Rigidity and creep resistance are also superior to PTFE. Hardness is 77 Shore D. Color is Natural Beige. Easily machined, drilled and sawed. Excellent weather ability and UV resistant. Meets the following criteria: USP Class VI , UL 2360 Class II , Flammability Rating-UL 94 (V-0) ,FM 4910 Listed.

Fluorosint 500s unique properties are the result of a proprietary process in which synthetically manufactured mica is chemically linked to PTFE. This bonding results in properties not normally attainable in reinforced PTFE. It has a continuous use temperature to 500 F. When compared to PTFE it has a higher load carrying capability, and lower coefficient of thermal expansion. Fluorosint 500 is a structural/seal grade filled with enough mica to produce a thermal expansion 15percent less than unfilled PTFE.

Nylon 6/6 Rods and Sheet are typically used as material for insulators, shaft bearings and bushings, wear strips, hinges, gears, and general fixturing. Heat deflection temperature at 264 PSI: 200F (93C). Color: Natural.A tough general purpose plastic with outstanding resistance to organic chemicals, acids and alkalis, Nylon 6/6 wears well against other surfaces and has a low coefficient of friction. It is readily machinable and may be milled, turned and cut with conventional machine tools. It does exhibit some dimensional swelling in wet applications, (up to 10 percent ) which should be taken into account with its use.

Polysulfone PSO (UDEL Brand) is considered to be in the class of Superpolymers since it maintains its physical properties at temperatures above 400 F. Polysulfone is a clear amber amorphous thermoplastic that is stable, heat resistant and self extinguishing. It has a UL-rated continuous temperature of 320 F. It is very rigid with a flex modulus of 400,000 psi with a tensile strength of over 10,000 psi at yield. It has a high dielectric strength and low dissipation factor. Polyamide Imide (PAI) is a thermoplastic amorphous polymer that has exceptional mechanical, thermal, and chemical resistant properties. It is in the league of "Superpolymers" exhibiting temperature resistance from cryogenic to 500 F. This unique material combines properties from both polyamides and polyimides such as high strength, melt processability and it is inherently flame retardant. Turcite X is a fluoropolymer based material with proprietary additives for enhanced performance. It excels in low load and high speed applications, and can be easily machined. It has minimal hygroscopic characteristics and possesses low thermal expansion properties, resulting in a structurally stable material. Its maximum continuous service temperature is also 180 F (80 C). Turcite X has lower friction properties than Turcite A. Typical applications include bearings, bushings and slides. It is lubricious, similar to PTFE but has more back bone.
